Born in New York and raised in South Carolina, Byrdie Wilson has never let adversity define her. Born with a cleft palate, Byrdie underwent multiple surgeries as a child, with doctors uncertain whether she would ever speak clearly. Her mother spent countless sleepless nights researching the best care, praying that Byrdie would one day be able to talk and hear normally.

But God had a different plan.
At just six years old, Byrdie signed herself up for a talent show and told her family, “You need to get on board because I’m going to be someone!” That moment marked the beginning of a journey that would lead her to become one of country music’s most promising new voices.

Byrdie trained with renowned vocal coaches Celeste Simone and Michael Orland (American Idol) and later worked with Rob Arthur of The Peter Frampton Band to produce her first three unreleased singles: “Fool for You,” “Stay,” and “Breaking Free.”

After a brief hiatus following the tragic loss of her boyfriend in 2020, Byrdie returned to songwriting with renewed purpose, becoming an outspoken advocate for mental health and suicide prevention. Her move to Nashville at 19, under the mentorship of Erik Halbig, marked a new chapter. Her single “Broadway” gained traction on TikTok with over 49K views and 17K Spotify streams, followed by “Where My Roots Run”, “Keep On Truckin”, "Out the Bottle" and “Over Me”, which helped her surpass 800K total streams.

Byrdie is the face of Operation Smile, using her platform to raise awareness for children born with cleft conditions—an experience she knows firsthand. She’s also an advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, blending her artistry with advocacy.

Her live performance resume includes opening for country legends Ty Herndon and Montgomery Gentry, and she continues to build momentum with her band, Byrdie & The Bees. Together, they are finalists for Best Artist/Band in the Best of Music City Community’s Choice Awards, and Byrdie was recently named a “Rising Star” in the Rising Star Search fueled by Monster. scoring her a spot in her hometown festival, Greenville Country Music Fest on October 25th.
